Access Primo:
- Visit the library's website (library.unizulu.ac.za)
- Alternatively, use the direct URL if provided by your institution.
Login (Optional):
- While you can search as a guest, signing in with your library credentials (student/staff ID) is before accessing full features like eBooks, saving results, and requesting books.
Enter Search Terms:
- In the search bar, type “Creative Arts” or specific topics related to creative arts such as “visual arts,” “theatre arts,” “performing arts,” “fine arts,” etc.
- You can also search by specific titles, authors, or ISBNs if you are looking for a particular book.
Refine Your Search:
- Once you hit search, you’ll likely get many results. You can filter the results using the options on the left side of the screen. Common filters include:
- Resource Type: Select Books or eBooks if you want only those formats.
- Availability: Choose Available Online if you want to see eBooks or Available in the Library if you're looking for physical copies.
- Subject: You can further refine by subject areas like Performing Arts, Fine Arts, or Art History.
Browse the Results:
- Review the list of books that match your search. You’ll see information such as the title, author, year of publication, and location (for physical books).
- For eBooks, click on the "Available Online" link to access the full text. For physical books, note the call number and the library location.
Use Advanced Search (Optional):
- If you need more specific results, click on Advanced Search next to the search bar. Here, you can:
- Combine keywords (e.g., “painting” AND “modern art”).
- Search by author, title, or subject.
- Limit results by language, date range, or material type
Save and Export Results:
- You can save the books you’re interested in by adding them to your favorites. You can also export citations to reference management tools like EndNote or Zotero.
Request or Reserve Books:
- For physical books, if the book is available at another branch or checked out, use the Request or Reserve option to have it delivered to your preferred library or placed on hold.
